The Cherryhurst subdivision of Houston, Texas, was built in the 1920s in an area not far from today's downtown Houston. The original subdivision was bounded by Fairview on the northwest, Westheimer on the south/southeast, Mandell on the southwest and Yupon on the northeast. The Cherryhurst Addition is across Fairview from the original subdivision and includes the Woodrow Wilson schoolgrounds bounded by Yupon and Windsor streets.
One of the neighborhood's greatest features is Cherryhurst Park, located in the center of the original subdivision. The park is known for its beautiful live oaks, which border the park, and also for the Park Center.
